Is it me or does this game have a lot of loading , the loading isn't exactly quick either its really putting me off playing. The battles are brilliant , the graphics are great as are the cutscenes/movies.

Anybody else felt the same?

Loaded fairly fast on my pc. Don't remember it taking quite long.

Maybe you there's something else loading or running at the same time as the game?

Nope..

Vista Ultimate 64BIT ( only a week old install )
Defragged , no virus's/spyware
2.55GHZ 3800+ X2
2GB GSkill
seagate barracuda 7200.10 250GB
Raptor 35GB(PAGEFILE DRIVE)

I remember seeing the game running on someone else's pc and the loading took AGES !

Further common sources or criticism in reviews, discussion and technical support are that the game suffers from numerous bugs, instability and prohibitively long load screens: "the standard loading screen is preceded by its own loading screen, for meta-loading

Martin Korda, in his January 2007 review of Mark of Chaos in PC Zone reported on abysmal load times for levels AND the main overland screens. Well, he was not wrong there and the times are long enough to get you thinking; do I really want to keep playing this game? Anyway, grumble aside, does anyone have any idea how level load times can be reduced? I don't intend to buy a 10,000 RPM hard disk, so I am looking for other ways to achieve the same result.

The game has Issues and the biggest one is load times. Initial load times for missions of all kinds take over 2 minutes. This is reduced a bit if you you choose to restart a mission (after making a mess of it!) Loading the overland screen (equivalent to the strategic map in the Total War games) also takes just as long to load. All other problems that the game has are dwarfed by the problem with load times. If your PC system has a fast hard disk and a multi-core processor, then load times might become acceptable

Good concept, however severely let down by the loading times between battles, which renders the game unplayable.

Brace yourself for the load times. A mission will last 20 minutes, and loading takes 3 minutes in, 3 minutes out... you end up spending half your time waiting. there are actually TWO load screens, in succession. One was just not enough to convey the struggle of loading that this game has. You can only play it in short bursts before you realize you're not playing the game on a commodore 64 and it is not 1986, and this game should not be taking so long!

Worst of all, however, are the absolute bleep insane load times for the game. Even if everything else in the game were perfect, were as good as DoW, the load times would kill the game and make it unplayable. Loading is measured not in seconds, but in minutes. I, quite literally, pick a mission, and then go do something else while it loads. Pay my bills. Do my laundry. Eat dinner.

It takes over a minute - try staring at a blank screen for a minute and half some time - to load the **** mission map.

Battles are over twice the load time of the map screen. It takes me about three and a half minutes to load a battle. Even if it's one involving my hero, the enemy hero, and about 20 random bystanders, a tiny bit of scenery, and nothing else. Over three **** minutes! It's **** ridiculous. It's completely unacceptable, unbearable, and unplayable. I have no idea how this **** made it out the door and onto store shelves.

An exercise for you to drive it home: take out a stop watch, or a timer, or something similar. Pull up a graphic image or some sort - nothing too awesome or interesting - and full-screen it. Set the timer going for three and a half minutes, and just sit there and stare at the image on the screen. See how fun it is.

I have an
Intel 6600 Core 2 Duo 2.13Ghz
2Gb 800Mhz RAM
nVidia 7600GT
system

I run it on mid range graphics with nearly no problems, still very long load times.

I think i should've googled before getting this game lol
