Warhammer online, Error message. Help??

Hi

Just installed the game, download the patch with the mythic patcher. Tried to start the game, get this message:

War.exe - Unable to locate component

'This application has failed to start because d3dx9_34.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem'

Im using vista 64, but I doubt that matters, brand new copy of the game. Have registered my key and created an account on their site. Should I just re-install? If I re-install will i have to download the patch again?

try the suggestions there, it does seem as if its a prob with the dx9 rather than the game. And yes you do need dx9 on vista64 for backwards compatability with some games.

Hum, missing dx9 component. Failure of dx10 recognition, mayhap?

Re-install sounds good. Yes, the patch will have to be downloaded again (assuming this mythic thing patches in place, rather than saving a .zip to your HDD)

Installing dx9.0c isn't as crazy as it sounds either, although I suspect that might be treating the symptoms rather than the cause.

Got it working now, just downloaded Dx something or other from the microsoft site. Had a google and found the solution, cheers anyway guys
