Hey there

So I didn't notice any official thread regarding Warhammer Online so thought it would be a good idea to post one so all discussion regarding the game can take place in here.
I'm looking forward to it and was looking forward to the supposed June release but then it got pushed back, yet again, but I'd rather have a well made game than a bug-laden MMO.

Yeah I figured, I am going to be buying AoC aswell to see what it is like, it's pretty much the reason for me upgrading my computer (well, along with Far Cry 2, WAR and Starcraft 2). But I have been following WAR for a while now and it looks like it is shaping up to be an awesome game, hopefully it lives up to expectations. I have been watching a lot of gameplay videos on YouTube and the PvP looks awesome.

Yeah the WAR graphics look very similar to WoW's, which is one of the reasons I think it may appeal, because it will run on all sorts of computers, from high-end rigs to old computers.

Yeah I can't wait, and I also am going to be playing AoC whilst I wait for WAR to come out. What Race/Class you all going to be choosing on WAR? I'm gonna be either a Witch Hunter or Orc Choppa.

I know a lot of people who currently play WoW or who played WoW and have quit are going to be moving/trying out WAR when it is released. I think the reason being as the game is very similar to WoW in terms of graphics style and the 2 opposing factions apart from WAR is gonna be mainly PvP focused, as you can level up for doing PvP which sounds awesome.

Yeah I played pre-TBC WoW (vanilla WoW) and TBC WoW and The Burning Crusade ruined the game, which is pretty much the reason I quit. As long as they don't screw things up with expansions, and if they do make expansions, actually have content that will improve the game long term rather than improve it for 3 months then make the game stupidly boring.

So are people that have preordered the collectors edition meant to get a special preorder box or something? As I have preorered mine with that Jersey store and they haven't said anything about sending me a preorder box with codes in and such...

Is there any difference between the 'special' preorder CE and just the CE?

Those three things all come guaranteed with the Jersey store preorder, it says so on the website...

I am ordering online, I mean ****.com. Which means I should probably get a pre-order box as they are a 'Pre-order campaign partner'. I might have to ring them and see what they say concerning the pre-order box.

The graphics look very very similar to WoW's, with the whole 'cartoony' art style. I think the cartoony style will also make the graphics more easy on the older computers so a wide range of people can play the game rather than have people who need upto date gaming rigs to run it well.

I actually don't/wouldn't compare the graphics to AoC as they look nothing alike, I would definitely compare them to WoW more. I'm not saying the cartoony graphics are a bad thing as I liked that art style in WoW. So imo the graphics look great, and they will probably be a lot better than WoW's yet will be using a very similar style.

Ok so I contacted the Jersey store (****.com) this morning and asked them about the pre-order boxes and they said they are sending them out at the end of this month or beginning of next month. But I was in town today and decided to go and have a look around the shop with three letters and they had the pre-order boxes but you had to pay £9.99 for it. But on the Jersey store, when you pre-order stuff with them they don't take the money out until the game is released and they are ready to ship it, so does this mean I will be getting the pre-order box for free or what? I don't understand now lol.

They just wont ship it or deduct the money until its worth shipping, at the moment you cant use any of the codes in the preorder box anyway, and the open beta code in there wont be any use until open beta actually starts.

Having said that, they (the jersey peeps), have been quite ambigious about how they are handling this, and in recent weeks its made me consider cancelling my 2 preorders with them and going down to the 3letter place instead.

I am not fussed about the open beta codes, as I am already in the closed beta anyway, but dont want to miss the early access

Yeah I want to make sure I get into open beta/early access and get the special in-game items, basically just the CE itself as it looks damn good.
