Warhawk: what a game!

What's with the spate of PC purists coming over to the consoles forum, if you don't like the control pads, don't play on them and stick to PCs?

The tanks are quite fun, yesterday I got 3 kills in a row, one guy on foot, a jeep and within 30 seconds I shot a Warhawk out of the sky trying to shoot me, it was very rewarding, much more than getting killed everytime I get in a Warhawk and dogfight.

I was pants in the warhawks and was very frustrating getting blown out of the sky. But using pro flight has helped along with the double tap of r2 for a speed burst when you get missile locked.

My advice is stay out of the Warhawks. I use them for fast transport and for chasing flag carriers on CTF. Thats it.

Again last night, i finished first in two of the games. 2nd in another and 4th in another. I'd say roughly 60% of my kills are poor Warhawk pilots but i get most of my points from TEAMPLAY!.

Unless it's a Dogfight or Team Deathmatch you should be working towards team points. Capturing Flag, Saving Flag on CTF. Capturing points and defending them on Zones. Capturing zones as well on CTF & Team DM. Remember touching the flag alone in CTF nets you 5 points, regardless of if you get killed 2 seconds after.

True was playing a CTF last night, unranked though, I ended up with like 150 odd points! Most of the time by touching the flags when dropped or raiding there base . Dont worry about the K to D ratio in these games just team points.

What is the best way to avoid a missile when you are locked on and the missile is fired?

Boost or moving up and down with the right analog stick?

I was teaching my mate how to play last night in split screen mode. I hosted a 4 player server (all his connection would allow) and was glad to see Inoshishi found me and joined in. He hasn't really played any online games before and I knew that once he got used to the controls/gameplay etc he would love it - and he did ;)

I love all the different gameplay modes too - play a bit of a deathmatch game if you want to increase your ground combat skills, I found this really helped.

hehe it was good fun, I am still rubbish at it though! :p

Finally got a little game in last night, graphics and interface are better than I was expecting, animation is laughably poor but it doesn't matter much.

It's nice and fast, but there is one major flaw with the game. That bloody controller.

Yeah the animation isn't brilliant, but as the Wii owners keep telling us graphics isn't everything it's all about gameplay :p

I beleive Logitech have bought out a 360 style usb controller. I'm fairly sure this would work with the PS3 for those of you who prefer it over the SIXASIS. I plugged my Logitech USB Dual Shock style controller into the PS3 and it worked fine.

Controller wise - It's all about what you're used to and each individuals preference. I'm used to playing this kind of game on a PC and the difference is a shocker . I know two people who own both consoles and they both prefer the PS3 stick. Like I said - it's down to each individuals preferences.

I can't say I noticed anything bad about the animations - just sit back and try and enjoy the game :D. Let us know if you have any positives :D

Its still not updating my stats and rank.

Think im going to have to leave this game till its sorted.
