Warhead download

Bought Warhead as a download from gamesplanet and left it to download itself.
Ended up after a day with 13.7 gig of files (9 files if different sizes) and an installer that seems to think c is the only letter a hard drive can be assigned.Questions are:
1 What's a typical install size for this game?
2 How the hell did they get a download of that size for an app thats ~1.5 gig
on another site (legal).
Anybodys experiences/ constructive opinions appreciated.
If this thread's in the wrong place will somebody move it please.

Warhead + Wars are about 11gb on Steam so its not that far off.

Think i'll stick with hard copies in future if that's the case as i don`t fancy getting whacked with the fair use stick by Tiscali: :rolleyes:

I'm downloading warhead from steam at the moment, defo sticking to hard copies in the future. Downloading games is for lazy people with expensive internet connections i.m.o :/

I have a disc version, although just had a look around on some 'questionable' sites at the file sizes, and they seem to be around the 6GB mark, but I highly doubt that Crysis Wars is also 6GB, surely it just uses the files from the Warhead SP :confused:

steam crysis wars is 5.22GB
steam crysis warhead is 5.70GB

Oh well,the activation code didn't work and i'm now waiting for tech support
to come up with an excuse.Possibly just my short fuse but gamesplanet are as much use as 't*ts on a boar hog',thankyou and goodnight :mad:

Here`s an interesting one,finally got an uncorrupted download but the supplied key is rejected by warhead yet allows crysis wars to install without issue.Anybody got any ideas? (i' waiting for a response from EA). :confused:

Expensive ?
I'm sure one of my mates has a 24 mb unlimited connection there for under 20 quid...
Here 20 mb is 19 € now, no FUP/datalimits either...
How cheap do you want it to get ?

Steam is just easier imo. In fact I get annoyed these days with installing games, so much easier to let it download from steam and be ready to play without any extra input.

Guernsey 2mb is £25 p/m

8mb here is about £80 p/m :eek:

I had a simmilar Fair useage policy stuck under my nose by Virgin, Now if i download anyhing legitemitely i get my line capped, i started downloading counter strike as i lost the disk and it took forever on a caped 2MB connection, IMO hard copys are deffinetly they way forward.

Leaving virgin would be a better way to move forward

ISP's who use FUP's instead of just making the capacity bigger of their network are backwards isp's...

but it's about the same as most ''premium'' isp's here, don't you have budget fighters like telfort/tele2/orange/alice/etc who offer cheap 20 mb ?
