i know we have a lot of warhead threads at the moment but I just wanted to see if anyone had any benchmarks of thoughts on the differance in performance between vista and XP, is the extra eye candy visible on vista machines? and is there a big performance differance?

thoughts?

DX9 vs DX10 Warhead shots

Am I the only one who thinks they look identical?

Edit: Actually the ice looks a little more natural in the DX10 ice shot, and I can see a bit of shadowing under the canopies on that carrier. I wouldn't say it's anything to write home about though.

yes they do, atleast to me, any know if theres much of a performance differance between the 2 operating systems? i ask because i know the original crysis had a strong XP following, wasnt sure if this was the case with warhead, as of yet anyway

I'm sure that less than a week after everyone starts receiving their copy of Crysis Warhead, many benchmarks will appear. Unfortunately, there are no direct Vista / XP comparisons available at present. You can have most DX10 effects in Windows XP anyway, so I doubt I'll install Vista especially for Warhead.

I doubt you'll take a bad performance hit on Vista. I'd just run it on that and try DX9 and DX10 modes.

I've got warhead pre-ordered on Steam, but I can't say I'm bothered enough about performance to go back to XP just for one game..

If it doesn't run well on my current Vista install, then I'll just turn the settings down ;)
