@ManCave
as per my other thread my Aorus card seem to Failing, (memory Glitches)

however wanted to use Aorus official software to confirm My theory that my Graphics card when boosted by GPU boost to 1946Mhz or higher causing my GPU to crash/spaz out.

After installing The Software i found some Updated Profiles
OC Mode
Gaming Mode
Silent Mode [NEW]

my card has always been in Gaming mode, but as a test i tried Silent mode out.
From my research This turned to the GPU clocks to a Ref 1080Ti & due to the massive Heatsink reduce Fan speed/Noise.

So i set it & tried it out. 3 Minutes into the Witcher.

my Card reached 92C Checking the software Fan Speed was 0%

AORUS USERS DO NOT USE SILENT MODE!
@Gigabyte-Gaming, referencing The Rep to make the issue aware & i will email him personally as i contacted him before.

I just wanted to make everyone aware.

Tbh mate its the same with their motherboard software as well. I use the SIV to run my fans and sometimes they fail to initialise or start and it's not until you touch the pc case that you realise the fans haven't started running because it's pretty hot. Uninstalled it as I was sick of it with the motherboard being gigabyte aswell I am unsure whether I should trust the BIOS to work all the time...

in reviews all it mentions is a reduced fan curve & reference clocks nothing about 0% fan

why have a 0% fan mode on a 1080Ti? if your not gaming/doing cuda work? both of which would reach hot temperatures
You dont always play games. Sometimes you browse the Internet and the 0% fan speed can be a blessing for that.

true, but every profile has 0% fan at idle up to 60c so no point having a profile for that a user could forget to switch. this must be a huge software bug.

They didn't last time I bought a gpu. I had to update my bios for that. Lowest was 30% and you couldn't set it lower without the bios update.

Agreed, something that could potentially kill a lot of cards too if a lot of users are using it.

Silent mode should not mean 0% fan from 0-92c lol so gigabyte seriously need to do something about this.

from my quick look 0Db option has been on gigabyte cards from 900's up :) just for your knowledge

You didn't say all gigabyte cards lol. Last card I bought with fans was evga 970. I think they have had it since after the card I bought.

Silent mode on RX 580 XTR runs perfectly :)
Although new windows build and AMD 17.4.4 drivers are aweful .....
Also not sure if this is causing my Extreme software to be buggy as often slow and crashes :/

Fans don't even kick in running bench marks

fans should be running if your benchmarking, as you should reach over 60c have you checked your temperatures? might be the reason for your crashes

Sorry, crashes are with using the Gigabytes Extreme OC software tool not the card crashing in bench marks. 3D mark will not validate Ben he's due to either windows build or and driver build :(

But yeah, no fans for bench marks....

I doubt it is intentional to have 0% fan speed all the time. why not check the fan curve out?

replied to The Rep email with all the details, was unable to produce it again after testing today, but i have reported some other minor oddities with the Software tool.
