You can't fail to be bowled over by Fud's optimism :D

Who'd have thought that Intel new how to make good gaming CPUs capable of incredible overclocking when the Core 2 Duo came out? Seems a bit early to write AMD off.

Tom, you know AMD, are they expecting this CPU to decimate Intel, or at the very least claw back some ground (so they can sell CPUs for more than cost price! :D )?

Man, two days after my wedding.. I will be brassic, at least the Phenoms won't be out for a few weeks afterwards so I can save a little money :p

Its gonna be even later if we think about it.... the desktop versions Ie the ones we all want arent due till november/december anyhow.

So there just gonna make 2.0 to 3.0 GHZ clock speeds ?!?!?

Also will each core have control over all the DDR2's or will each core have a slot that it's in charge of ?!? They lost me when they put the memory controller on the chip !!

I dont know if its in this deisgn or AMDs next gen. But i think amd have spilt up the normal 128bit mem controller into 2 64bit contoller. This should help speed up data as 2 cores can use the mem at the same time. Also they placed it on the chip to save latency between the northbridge, memory and core. Intel went with the More cache design and predicted mem.Intel has a much bigger fab and cache cost more and are bigger so they get away with it. AMD cant afford to use huge amounts of cache and so use thier on board mem design.
