systems fail to boot after install
Now it looks like my PC has already downloaded this as I found it listed in the event log under the windowupdateclient entries.
It's also in my installed updates log (control panel -> installed updates), which seems odd as it's requesting a restart and the install date is today. I'm thinking this is only getting installed when I reboot, which is bad.
looking in C: - windows - softwaredistrubtion - download I see the hashname folder 9245b00ecf1995cc86ce1288d9ce1d1e which appears to contain files relating to kb2823324
Going up one folder, look in the ReportingEvents.txt file and it gives the installation schedule in there too
The recommendation is to delete everything in that folder (or rename it download.old) and let update download it all again, meanwhile windows should have blocked further downloads of KB2823324 and not try to download it again (well, that's the theory).
I'm also uninstalling it from the control panel bit.
Trying it now and rebooting
