[/IMG] Word of warning for people ordering from E* place - there are thieves in their warehouse.

I've ordered FireCuda 520 2GB from them only to find SSD packaging was empty and unsealed, with seal removed. The outer box have been very carefully tampered with, the first tape has been cut, and a second clear tape was applied.
I can only assume this has happened in their warehouse, as the second tape applied is exactly the same as the original one, and the cut marks are the same, also it is underneath the courier company sticker.

This has never happened to me before so I'm quite shocked and I do order loads online.

You are not allowed to talk about competitors.
And also you have no proof any of that is happening in the warehouse...you can be easily sued for spreading this around without clear evidence.

Thanks for the point about competitor, I've updated reference to what people typically do when referring (hope this is ok now).

As for the evidence - it is actually very clear, first tape cut, second applied on top, no seal on the SSD packaging, pretty obvious.

Definitely going to avoid them from now on.

What do the company in question have to say on the matter? I assume you've been in contact with them over this theft.

Nothing as of yet - phone lines closed for the weekend before delivery, eNote raised but they state response time as 2 business days.
I'll update thread as to what happens, hope they make this good and I won't have to go through the bank. I've shopped with them (a lot) for 14 years.

I guess I must have been lucky to never have such a problem before - now that I thought over it and how easy it is do such a thing.

Try not to get mucky paws on it, on the off chance they want to pursue a claim. Unsure of the value so that may not be realistic.
Thanks for the tip. SSD was just under £300 (which was pretty good for that SSD) - not end of the world, but it's not peanuts either.

So you've had no problems before, over 14 years, yet you feel aggrieved enough to post a rant about the company being awful, evil and thieving as soon as you hit a snag without waiting for their response or giving them a chance to sort it out? Right ok.

People suck.

Where's the drama coming from? Where did I say that?

All I said was a word of warning and likely thieves in their warehouse, based on the evidence. That might actually save someone hassle.
That's far from rant about company being awful, evil.

I don't post much - but I'm lurker here years (only registered recently), and if I have seen post like that, I would have taken video while unpacking the box, which would be best evidence.

So that's the least I can do - help & warn others, not asking for a pity or having a tantrum.

How do you know it wasn't the postie?

Based on how the parcel looked like.
There was one layer of clear tape, which was very neatly cut on the bottom only, and another layer on top of, exactly same same/cut marks.
Parcel sticker was on top of both layers, so I think that's 99% inside warehouse job, after packing, before dispatch.

Another thing which was a bit odd - but probably unrelated - was there wasn't tracking number in the link, and before it was always there, I had to call to find it out.

I received a Corsair MP510 drive from an online retailer and it was missing from the box when opened. I was expecting them to argue with me but they sent me a replacement no hassle.

I’ve been to warehouses specialising in distribution of computer products and they have bag searches, metal detectors, turn out pockets etc but you can’t do much about someone popping an nvme drive up their poop hole.

That's encouraging, I didn't know what what to expect yet, hopefully they'll make it good without much arguing.

Or to just not deliver it at all. Had that problem with a bunch of laptops I'd ordered for a charity I was helping update. Fortunately the building cctv showed the courier was conspicuously absent on the time stamp. The courier company couldn't have been less interested when we reported it.

That's shocking. I don't live in a bubble, but didn't realise this is fairly common, based on what you and others wrote here. Some people do suck
