Do not attempt to install a sf protected game on win 7 as i tried installing GT Legends and even tho it didn't install the driver according to the pop up cos it wasn't signed, it did put a file sfsync02.sys in win/sys32/drivers and that stopped my pc from booting it kept going to start up repair which it couldn't repair, only fixed it by going to lapy and googling the file and found that u delete it with dos prompt it will fix it which it did thank god.

So there u go a friendly warning about starforce protected games and its issues in win7.

You could try reinstalling, and then instead of rebooting, install StarForce update here.

I have Vista so installing a game just needs the update. The effect on my system wasn't as drastic as yours though, but it's worth a shot if you're able to fix the problem if it happens again.
