Warning::System power consumption with Overclocked CPU

This is my system power useage at idle....
The only thing i changed was the CPU speed...


My C2D 6600 cpu at stock 2400ghz (system idle)

I not tested what the best overclock i can get at stock volts..I know 3200 is stable and 3400 is not stable..
3200 with cpu set at 1.35v and auto for all the other voltage settings...

So a system using 228watts at idle 24/7 would cost you about £186 a year in electricity bills...Not counting the power draw from the monitor & speakers etc
This is based on 12p per kw (This is not counting Low Rate Periods)

(Someone please correct me if these figures are wrong)

Just tested this...My dell 2405 uses 47watts went in use and only 7watts in standby...

I tryed this loads of times but the system draw just drops to below 300watts :confused: ...

i think what happens is that when you load both the cpu cores at max there no cpu power left to run the 8800gtx...

I am currently on my main desktop, specs:
Q6600 @3ghz and stock voltage
DS2R G33 mobo
8800gt stock settings
2gb ram
2 x 320gb 7200.10 raid 0

My kilwatt meter reads 105watts idle, 190watts all cores loaded and 200watts on COD4
If you want more systems rated give me a shout, I have 2 laptops and two shuttles
your only 105watts ide with overclocked Q6600 quadcore :confused:

Am 230watts idle with overclocked e6600 dualcore and 8800gtx and close to about 400watts load
