The ST has just hit 30,000 and is now out of warranty so im needing to find a after-market warranty.

Contacted Warranty Direct who now cover what in their eyes is "performance cars" and i am awaiting a reply from them. Whilst im waiting are there any other companies worth contacting?

Thanks and Merry Christmas

I had a quote from warranty direct for the ST and it was ridiculous.

Several months later they sent me a letter offering the warranty for around half of their initial quote.

Several months?! Crikey.

Usually they call you several days after and keep calling until you reach a deal. That is exactly how it has worked with every WD policy I've ever sorted.

I honestly dont know, when i spoke to the dealership this week regarding extended warranty they didnt seem at all interested. Might be a isolated incedent with one individual at the dealers but, thats the impression i got.

No, they are generally regarded as the least worst company if that makes any sense :p

You've left it very late, though - the WD product is considerably better if you take it out BEFORE the manufacturers warranty expires. If there is no current warranty on the vehicle you have NO cover against wear and tear for the first 90 days.

So other than wear and tear they will still cover the car?

Jeez, isn't that the truth. I was getting 3 calls a week asking if i had considered it any further. Eventually I told "Ryan" to tell "Jack" that i wasn't interested in a warranty at the moment. 2.5 minutes later i got a call from "Jack" and i said i wasn't in a position to buy a warranty at the moment and i'd consider it again in the summer. Eventually he got very shirty with me and said "Look, do you want me to call you back or not???" to which i said "No." then hung up.

Knob.

Anyway, their cover seems to be fairly solid, but if you want to the best deal let them keep calling you - they can offer you monthly payments and normally half the quote you got online.

My car has no warranty, so if I was to take one out I would have to wait 90 days before I'm covered on W&T parts.

Thats not the issue, im looking more in terms of major problems £1k plus. I mentioned that the car is modified [ or in the process of being] i assume that will raise the premium considerably?

I think the major problem is that just about any component failure could be contributed to "wear and tear" and in many cases makes warranties that exclude W&T not worth the paper they are written on.

Isnt that just for the 1st 90 days though?

this is one of the reasons the Mountune Kit is so good.

it lets you keep your manufacturers warranty. Very few manufacturers in this segment have this. Vauxhall or VAG don't !

The manufacturers warranty is up though, i guess i will just have to swallow the odd "high" bill. Whats the biggest it could be, £2k for a turbo in which case i would get rid of the kkk and go for a Garrett T28/30. Wife friendly upgrade
