Hi,

I have a i5 2500k cpu that has went bang, it was an oem chip with a one year warranty which it is still within, (runs out in Feb next year).

Can someone tell me if this is covered by O/clockers or will i have to send it back to manufacturer ?

thanks,
David

thanks lrlcr,

Wasn't sure as it was oem, will contact O/clockers on Tuesday. Do i phone them or should i email them ?

I also mean to say that the computer just froze & switched itself off, it wouldn't turn on again, no bleeps or anything, i have two red lights blinking on the m/board, one beside the cpu & the other beside the ram slots, checked the manual & it seems to be the cpu.

Have ordered a new one already as i will need it for work, should be here on Tuesday so i will be able to confirm that its the cpu, will use the replacement cpu to upgrade my other computer.

Have already ordered a new cpu, should have it tomorrow so i will know for sure if it is the cpu or not.

I checked the memory in another computer so i know that isn't the problem. Don't have any way of checking the m/board without dismantling another computer, i have a steady green light at the top of the m/board with two blinking red lights, one at the bottom of the ram slots & one beside the cpu.

Have a coolermaster 520 psu, lights on the m/board would indicate that its not it.

Have another computer to upgrade anyway so the chip will not go to waste either way.
