"warranty void if removed." GRRRR....

was looking into this since my new U160DX wind netbook had this sticker over the RAM plate, so you couldn't upgrade the RAM! While looking I came across someone who was supposedly a lawyer and said that EU LAW states that warranties cannot be cancelled or offered through stickers. MSI them selves told that those stickers are just there to scare off people from opening the laptop and does not count as a warranty.

Why does everything have to be covered in big obnoxious stickers saying in bold letters WARRANTY VOID IF REMOVED? Just got a delivery of my GFX card and ram, both of them have it! really annoying, it completely spoils the look of them...
:(

Do you guys keep the stickers on, or say to hell with it? And will RMA's etc turn a blind eye if I did take the stickers off?
Well what can I say, its the downside to purchases :(

Defo! Wanna see that baby in action! Hope you have a monster of a case to house that little beaut!

Of the many things that people shouldn't do with their pc, opening the psu it right at the top. Still doesn't stop twits hurting themselves though

I've opened my older out of warranty PSU's many times, as long as you know what you're doing then you'll be fine.

And then when you send it back after it fails and they say 'it failed because of the amount of dust, warranty void.' Yay...

You can in fact clean a PSU without removing the whole casing... In fact if you undo the fan screws the fan can be manipulated enough to come out of it's opening for cleaning leaving a big hole for compressed air to be blown into etc. I've done this on two power supplies without breaking the warranty seal. ;)
