My monitor started making a high pitched noise, basically its broke, i posted in the monitors section about what to do and they say take it back to the shop, so i decided to email the shop i bought it from and see what they say, they said i should contact the company who make it as the warranty lies with them.
i have a three years warranty booklet from the makers of the monitor (samtron)
My first question is...its about 7 months old, so am i entitled to take it back to the shop? as its faulty after 7 months? this would remove the trouble of mailing a damn CRT monitor back to samtron.
my second question..near the end of the warranty, under 'obligation of original owner' it says...
"The defective product shall be shipped, insured and freight payed, or delivered to ASC (samtrons crib) to render the services provided hereunder, in ORIGINAL PACKAGING. "
Now, do i have to pay to send the monitor back to samtron, and, who in the hell keeps a gigantic monitor box full of polystyrene!! to return in original packaging is a bit of a stupid request, as you only read the warranty if it breaks right? and i dont have room in the house to keep unneccessary cardboard boxes.
so, where do i stand with samtron? and where do i stand with the shop? and what to i do ?
