Hey

I just found this game online. Its an open source FPS built on the Quake 2 engine but with cell shaded graphics and an emphasis on movement and jumping. Its called Warsow, available at Warsow.net.

I am unable to play atm as Im home from uni with just my 14" laptop, and playign fps on a laptop sucks, especially if youve developed a 45 degree angle between your monitor and keyboard aproach, as I have.

Just wondering is anyone on here knew of this or has played it. I can wait to get back to uni and see what its really like. Looks a lot of fun.

Its been out quite a long time now, basically q3 cpma but it just lacks "something". Still enough people play it online for you to have a good mess around on it.

I played it when it first ever came out, was really good fun for a bit. Did a few duels and such on it.

I used to play Painkiller at a highish level, so this was a good game to take up aswell.

Going to download it again now actually and give it a shot.

Warsow is a great multiplayer game.

Not better than say QW or Q3, just different. Largely down to the wall-jumping and the extra nuances this allows in movement around a level.

Been a year or so since I played it, and actually preferred the previous versions more detailed map textures to the more recent ones which are a bit plain.

Wasn't there a post up on Slashdot last week about the best free multiplayer games available and this either won, or finished well up the table ?

Think I'll download it and have another bash this afternoon to see if they've done anything else with it since I last played.
