Was Chrono Trigger released for European PS1's?

Evey now and then I see a Chrono Trigger and FF4 bundle for the PS1 on the bay but it always an American version. I was wondering if it was ever remade for Europe too?

I don't think Chrono Trigger has ever been released in Europe despite being one of the best games ever. The DS port that's coming out most likely will come out here though.
