just read it doesnt fit the P35 DS4 due to all the heatpipes. Wondering which cooler to get that isnt a ***** to fit and is good quality without lapping - maybe zalman 9700 (tho heard it slices ** fingers to pieces when fitting!) would prefer to stay away from tuniq tower as it's just sooo massive. Thoughts appreciated :)

They also said the Arctic Cooling 7 Pro didnt fit, but it does. Instead of the Noctua i personally would go for the Tuniq Tower, failing that, the Thermalright Ultra 120.

Tower and Thermalright r both huge, is the zalman comparatively smaller (tho a few degrees hotter)?

Alternatively if i was to get the DS3P (no heatpipes) would the Noctua fit?

It all depends on the clearance from the CPU plate to the actual start of the heatsink fins as to whether the HSF will fit. If you look at the tuniq tower there is a lot of clearance there, so they won't come into contact with the heatpipes. The same applies to my Scythe Ninja, even though it is a bit of a beast size wise, there is ample clearance to the heatpipes on the motherboard.

If you did go for the DS3P then you wouldnt have a problem with the Noctua i wouldnt have thought

Quite possibly, yes.

The thermalright is definitely the best, all comes down to how much u want to spend in the end.

It's not really the price, i'm happy to spend £40 if it means i get a good cooler but it actually comes down to that i dont want an absolutely massive tower in my case cos it is a mid size case and dont want to upgrade it til later next yr.

Hi, I have just ordered a Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme, I was just wondering if you knew if I could have it facing upwards instead of rearwards like in your photograph.
Thanks
