Was jesus born on december 25th?

Of course he wasn't, at least there's a 364/365 chance that he wasn't.

It was just a convenient time of year to place a festival of his birth, since it coincided with the existing Yule celebrations.

What about me? :o

If you're god then present some evidence please to stop the interminable debates on your existence, just a couple of minor miracles would do for starters (water into wine might be appreciated at this time of year), thanks for your co-operation. ;)

December 25th was chosen as the date for Christ's Birthday as it coincided with an existing Pagan festival as said, if you want to get people to convert to your new religion it's a damn site easier transition if you can attach your festivities to theirs and subsume it that way. It's possible that Christ was born at this time of year but it seems a little unlikely given the other Biblical references to events that would normally happen in the spring.

ive heard from some chrisitans that he was not. if its true what is the point of christmas?

Christmas is a pagan festival (winter solstice) disguised as a Christian festival.

Realistically, it has nothing to do with Christianity at all.

Assuming Jesus is real, there'd be no chance the whole "nativity" story happened in July, "Mary" and "Joseph" would have died in cold before "Mary" had even started giving birth to be quite honest.

I can convert water into golden water? :p

Some theories say he was born mid-spring, March/April time.

The Bible itself tells us that December 25 is an unlikely date for His birth. Palestine is very cold in December. It was much too cold to ask everyone to travel to the city of their fathers to register for taxes. Also the shepherds were in the fields (Luke 2:8-12). Shepherds were not in the fields in the winter time. They are in the fields early in March until early October. This would place Jesus' birth in the spring or early fall.
