Will make some difference in GTA4 and possibly in upcoming titles too, only a matter of time. It wasn't too long ago that people were saying the same about 1gb cards.

there might come 2GB refresh by the time nvidia releases their DX11 cards, just like AMD did when they first released only 512MB version of HD 4870 and then come up with a 1GB version later on

GDDR5 is expensive at the mo, with prices predicated to drop substantially over the next 6 months.

Expect more 2gb cards then.

yeah but i don't think going from 1 to 2gb is going to give the same performance boost as 512 to 1gb, for the average gamers anyway.

Not really. It's for this reason most laptops with 5*** cards in them will have DDR3 ram instead of DDR5 for the next 8 months or so.

I would imagine they 5890 would come out with 2gb gddr5 if compared to the 48xx series, where the 4890 came natively at 1gb, compared to the 4870 which had 512mb then eventually had some 1gb support.

Is a 5890 even come out though now? No news from the red team.

The 5970 is 2 5870s clocked at 5850 speeds I think. Maybe a 5870x2 is a 5970 clocked at 5870 speeds?

I think that would draw too much power then. Over 300W for sure.
