Washing machine blows fuse

When my washing machine (7 year old ) was running yesterday it blew the fuse and no power in home. We reset the trip and the same happened twice more (took me a ittle while to realise it was the washing machine!). The socket is OK, and I presume the fuse in the plug must still be OK as the machine worked for a a couple of seconds before the fuse went again.

It was not happening never before, which is very weird only yesterday. But my mother put inside a lot of clothes yesterday.

Ah and circuit overload doesnt matter, because actually i have only tv and laptop running, like always;)

Today we run again washer, but this time she put less clothes than yesterday...and no fuses are not tripping and power is on still.

Any ideas? Its not blowing fuse, just tripping the breaker. you know

You could post a picture of the consumer unit showing which part is tripping.

If the plug has a fuse are you in the UK? If you’re in Poland I’d except you to have European style unfused plugs and sockets.

My guess is there is a leak in the drum that's only noticeable with a large load, shorting part of the electrical system.

This is only a guess, an educated one but still a guess.

Larger load might be putting more strain on the failing motor which in turn is drawing more amps than it should and is tripping the breaker.

Now its fine, washer working without issues in home. So leave that or change something in electricity home?

I ask because i want to plug my new pc parts.

But i had many pcs in home no issues, even last pc from 12.12.2017 to 10 december 2018 and no issues.

If it's the washing machine tripping your breaker, then the most likely component causing this is the heating element. This is usually easy enough to change, especially with the help of Youtube. But to make sure that it is the heating element, check to see if the water is getting warm. You might find the water isn't getting warm, as the breaker trips when the heater is turned out.

It might even be something metal, like a bra wire, touching the heater element causing the machine to trip.

Washer just trip breaker ( main ) and power go out in house. To turn back power we just switch breaker up again.

But now its fine with washer. So question. Can i use computer in my house? Pc parts are ready to plug.

You haven't provided enough information to allow for any proper advice.

If the washing machine keeps knocking the mains out then you should stop using it.

Once you've stopped using the washing machine there's no obvious reason why you shouldn't use the computer.

:) just ask because it was something with washer but now its fine using and it not tripping breaker again. So its enough to use new pc?

Somebody said this:"If the main breaker is tripping (cuts power to entire house, not just part of the house) something is very wrong. Main breakers are using something like 100a, obviously the other breakers should trip first. If the main breaker is indeed tripping, I would get an electrician to replace the main breaker as it is likely faulty or has a loose connection. This task is for a professional electrician."

If it's the main breaker that's tripping.

It's perfectly possible that it's an RCD that's tripping. If you don't know the difference post a picture showing what is tripping.

And again are you in the UK? Your profile says Poland which makes no sense when you're talking about fused plugs.

This:

Its screen from net, just to show ,ts,all. Its the main breaker from box in my home.

That does appear to be an RCD. Google 'RCD' or 'residual current device' if you need to know what one does.

Assuming it is an RCD then you aren't overloading anything. The washing machine will have a fault that's triggering the RCD, this isn't uncommon with appliances like washing machines where you have electricity and water combined. As suggested above the heating element is the most likely cause.

My question. Technically when washer trips RCD and power goes out, this is the same when oven and bulb inside get damage and oven will trip rcd and power goes out too ..... .

So its the same?

had this happen with a 6 year old washing machine the cause was a faulty heating element i replaced that and it works fine, trying searching on spares site for a replacement heating element and save yourself a few hundred quid.
