The Mrs has been out and ordered a dishwasher and now I need to get the piping ready for its delivery next week.

I currently have the below setup under the sink.

Instead of getting a Y splitter, am I best buying a new Spigot (I think that's what it is called) with dual waste pipes so I can run both waste hoses and then some sort of copper / brass T joint to plumb both into the cold water supply?

Please ignore the state of the cupboard, we only moved in last week and I need to replace the shelf
Any help would be greatly appreciated

I take it the two water pipes are already in use for a washing machine? What I would do is put on of these http://www.screwfix.com/p/pegler-prestex-809t-washing-machine-valve-tee-15mm-x-15mm-x/76344 in the cold water supply. Space looks a bit tight, so I'd also replace the existing valve with one of these http://www.screwfix.com/p/pegler-prestex-809b-washing-machine-valve-elbow-15mm-x-bsp/45537. Both have proper hand turn vales so in the event of a leak you're not rushing about looking for a screwdriver :o:eek::D:D

You'll need a pipe cutter and a small piece of 15mm copper pipe - I'm sure you'll know someone who has a piece kicking about.

The waste looks to be more problematic, as you have a twin bowl setup. The traps with twin wastes usually are opposite each other like this one http://www.screwfix.com/p/mcalpine-appliance-trap-40mm-white/95241, meaning you'd lose the waste to the other sink! I'd have a closer look at your existing trap at the bit below the washing machine waste and see if I could replace that part with one that has a waste feed in it. It looks like there's some more waste pipes under the sink? Maybe they could be utilised instead?

There is this product http://www.screwfix.com/p/washing-machine-drain-out-kit/75883 that gets good reviews, although I have never used one myself. Good luck :)

Thanks Barry, the washing machine uses both hot and cold, however, it is being replaced tomorrow with a new one that only utilises the cold feed, so there will be some room. I could possibly pop a y splitter in there as the hot won't be used? The shelf will also be removed tomorrow.

As barry said

This Tee trap part may fit in one these two places I marked in red..

Thanks, that looks like it would fit, will have to measure up tomorrow when I get home and check.
