Washing Machine for Under £350

BEKO will no doubt get knocked by some (OMG FIRE HAZARD!!!), but we got one after 8 years of a top of the range Samsung which packed up, and the BEKO is actually better.

It was around £260, think that one you linked to is the 9KG version whereas ours is 8KG and black. Apart from that, looks the same.

I got one of these beko ones and I'm more than happy with it, It's very quiet even at 1200rpm spin

£190
if it breaks outside of the warranty I will just buy another.

I only wash clothes once a week so it will probably last me years and years.. ( I was going to get a 6kg LG direct drive but all my research lead me to believe buying cheap washing machines is the best option if you don't use it more than 1-2 times a week)

coop is seriously the best site for buying white goods! their after sales service is top notch and free rapid delivery with a 60min time slot.

I had a combi microwave from them that developed a grinding nouse and they did a courier swap the very next day after I reported the fault!
less than 24 hours between my complaint and the courier swap happening.

I like the idea of having a larger drum and higher spin speed since I tumble dry most stuff.

Are the hot points any good?

I wouldn't buy hotpoint , indesit , creda or any of them crud brands personally, most people have owned one in the past and never will again.

BEKO seems to be the best out of the cheaper makes, maybe you should go look around currys or somewhere you would be surprised how well made the beko machines appear outside and underneath where all the gubbins are

I'd personally drop the spin speed from 1600 (far too fast unless you like lots of ironing creases out) and get a bigger load size instead :)

Not sure if it was on your radar but i got a Sansung 8144D (I think). It seemed to get good reviews but it’s been pretty disappointing. Our old washer on the no iron function seemed to give everything in a decent state where it didn’t need ironing.

The Samsung only allows you to use no-iron on a few select cycles and the ones it allows all tend to be abour 2 hours long, and even then it comes out pretty creased 

What you're buying is a range of quality and 'features' a more expensive washer with more features doesn't mean it's better quality than a basic higher quality machine.

In the end you'll do what everyone else does and use one or two settings that's all, we spent 450 on a Bosch and it spins at 1200 / 1400 / 1600, the 1600 spin speed you have to override the default and select manually on every wash so invariably it just gets left at the default speed which is 1200 / 1400 and we find that more than acceptable.

Don't get sold on features go for a quality machine first.

If you are buying at the cheaper end of the market Beko are one of the better brands. Out of warranty spares are cheap compared to the likes of Bosch.

Some cheap Bosch machines, the control modules retail for anywhere between £150 and £200, a Beko you are looking around £60 - £100

As others have stated make sure it's Direct Drive, also brush-less if you can find one in your price range. (I know the Swan SW3020W is cheap but can't vouch for that as we have a LG Brush-less DD machine that's been fantastic)
