Now, this may seem like an odd request, but I've never used a top-loading washing machine before. In my new university halls, there are 5 top-loading "speedqueen" washing machines, coin-operated. I've never come across a machine where I don't put the powder in a little slot (there aren't any) - and there's no-one about to ask right now, everyone's either out or asleep.
Do I just put the powder in with the clothes? I feel like such a child asking this, even though I'm 22.
