Hi!

Got an issue with the washing machine whereby it wants to vibrate itself to death.
It seems I put in too heavy a load and knocked the drum out of line, Got somebody out and hes pushed it back into place and said was fine to use.
OK put another load in and still jumping around. Apparently it needs rebalancing and to use half a load, but how???

Any advice???

Don't over fill the machine. Do smaller washes.

Otherwise you need to contact the manufacturer and find out what can be done. It's probably one of the springs or shocks has been stretched and needs replacing.

The bearings have failed in our 3 year old hotpoint. Looks like it can be fixed but I have bought a new Bosch with a 2 year warranty. We use ours so much that we can't take a chance, annoying spending £450 on something so boring but it's an important part of our daily lives.

The annoying thing is its only on full tilt. Just done an empty spin (3mins) and its fine but then it doesn't go full spin and thats where the problem is.

Will try with some t-shirts see what happens...

FYI its a "Zanussi jetsystem turbodry 1200"
It was here when we moved in

Funnily enough we had a bearing failure on our 3yr old hotpoint washer dryer last month

Ours was a warranty repair thankfully

He told you it needs rebalancing?

Did he check the shock absorbers or to see if one of the concrete weights has cracked?

If you can see anything that looks like concrete dust the chances are the weight has cracked.

They are the two most likely causes.

He should have checked this for you to be honest, how much did he charge you?

No idea on this as I wasn't present. Apparently the drum had been knocked out of place so he pushed it back in, then yeah said it needs rebalancing. How does one do so???
TBF we weren't charged.

The drum hangs off springs and has two shock absorbers on the bottom attached to the chassis, I have no idea how you push it back into place.

If it is in the wrong place then something is broken.
