now this may sound like a silly question but it's one i've always been interested in knowing.

i want to play games like witcher but cannot be bothered as it requires too many hours and tbh isn't something i was immediately into when i played it last, the same with never winter nights 2. now i've tried searching for say 20 minutes of someone playing the game through to see how it really is (not talking from the player just the game noise) but i'm yet to find what i'm after.

ideally i'd like to know is there any where i can go to watch a game being played? this will then hopefully spark some interest in the game and mean i save time playing the bad ones and only play the good ones.

does anyone know of such a thing?

usually all you get is reviews or the video cut scenes but i'd like to see a good bit of time of a user playing the game. i'm hoping someone will suggest a website where this is or at least a better way to find them

gametrailers might do on the user uploaded videos. youtube does have a lot of walkthroughs, you just have to dig around for them :)

If it's the first act in The Witcher you're stuggling with, I'd advise you to stick with it as it gets much better in acts 2 and 3. Much more action and much less running around the empty countryside.

A Lets Play could be what you're after. Basically someone playing through a game, usually with commentary. Some of the ones on that site are screenshot walk throughs though (But still, the Dwarf Fortress ones are hilarious, especially Boatmurdered).

Thoguh as it has commentry, they are often a love/hate thing depending on who's doing to commentary. I do like deceasedcrab's ones.
Something Awful has a forum dedicated to these, where people post their progress, often allowing people to suggest what happens next. This workes best for Dwarf Fortress games where everyone plays for a year then passes the save on, often with hilarious consequences and dwarfs going insane.

Justin.tv tends to have a lot of live streams of games. When FF XIII came out in Japan, there were endless streams of people playing it, was awesome :)

iirc one of the metal gear games id this. made something like 2+ hour movie from gameplay + the cutscenes.

my little brother watches people streaming games before he buys them, probably via Justin tv or something like that - the usual streaming sites for football and stuff.
