The sensational C40 SpeedHawk, has certainly been worth the wait and is a landmark watch for the brand. With a case adapted from the best selling C4 Peregrine, the C40's crowning glory, the customised ETA Valjoux 7750 movement can be seen in all its glory through the crystal exhibition back.

Any opinions on this watch (out next month). I'm no expert but I am in the market for a nice watch but one that isn't massively expensive (i.e. thousands). From what I've posted and on their site please feel free to comment.

I like that. Looks nice for a sportier watch - pretty understated. I'm not usually a fan of chronos at all TBH, but that there watch does look good. Good value too, but how well do they hold their price?

I've got a C3 Malvern Chrono and I love it, looks the business and feels great. Service from CW themselves is spot on as well.

The C8 Pilot is one of the best looking watches I've ever seen.. my perfect watch. But its too big! 44mm would just look ridiculous on me. if only there was a 40mm version :(

Very nice watch. I really like the prices that they have.

My experience has been a bit weird with them. Ordered a c8 from them last thursday but it hasn't been sent yet. Sent them off an email as their site is showing me that i've haven't made any purchases (so i can't track the watch) and apparently someone needs to contact me to verify details.

Found this a bit weird to be honest and i thought it would have been sent out friday but i'm not complaining as the prices are very good.

I prefer the back of it.
there's a watch in last months topgear where the back is soo much nicer looking than the front. So different I tthought it was two different ones being advertised and couldnt work out how the time would be told on it.

The watch looks well built, manly but not over imposing. I like it, apart from the strap looks cheap and out of place, maybe it's the needle work but it sticks out. It is obviously "sporty" making it possibly unsuitable for those special events. For day to-day I'd be happy. Of course that's all relative to your lifestyle etc.

p/s: 5ATM WR, does it mean its only good for handwash and no swimming?

I found this on google. May or may not be accurate.

Water Resistance

ATM or “atmospheres” is the amount of pressure a watch can withstand before leaking. A 3ATM watch will withstand pressures equivalent to about 30 meters, or 100ft under water. It is important to note that this is a measure of pressure NOT depth. For example, the pressure from the water coming from the shower hitting the seals of the watch is far greater than 3 atmospheres.

The following are “real world” examples of the water resistance of each rating:

3ATM - Water resistant to 30 meters (100 feet). Will withstand splashes of water or rain but should not be worn while swimming or diving.

5ATM - Water tested to 50 meters (165 feet). Suitable for showering or swimming in shallow water.

10ATM - Water tested to 100 meters (330 feet). Suitable for swimming and snorkeling.

Not Water Resistant
You will know that your watch is NOT water resistant if there are no markings on the watch.

I love CW watches.

At that price, for that movement, it's an utter steal. It does look a bit generic - but that never did Omega/Rolex any harm.
