Been using a cheap mi band for far to long and have really got into running since lock down. Doing 3 runs each week. Been harassed to get Strava and also need something a bit more accurate to track my runs.

Happy to spend upto £250 as I see this as a good investment in my health

Needs to hook in with Strava and be android compatible, I quite like the idea of a music sync so I don't always have to have my phone on me.

Any thoughts ?

A mate is gonna give me his fenix 3, I am guessing even though it's a few years old that will tide me over until the 255.

I am sure the 245 would be fine. But if a new one is due in the next few months I may as well hold fire

Have to say, I know the OP isn't looking towards the Fenix range, but I started with a 235 I think but moved to the Fenix just over a year ago and it's another level.

I don't use many of the sport features, mainly only walking/running.... and believe it or not, occasionally surfing (it has a surf mode). I use it with a HRM for when I do running which just gives me probably far too much detail, but the HRM is important to what I am doing. Anyway, where it shines is the maps and battery life. This is where I am with the dedicated "sports" watches over the "smart" apple/samsung watches. I need something that works all the time in any weather and will take an absolute beating and that is why I went for a dedicated sports watch (Fenix). The maps/navigation functions are quality, used it many times now just finding my way about random areas with just the watch. Handy having music as well, think it can have a couple 1000 tracks I'm sure.

I have a mate who is giving me a fenix 3. Slightly older, but free. Hopefully that will do the trick
