Hey guys.
Do some of you hit the gym with your watch & use MyFitnessPal on your mobile?

I've just started to go to the gym and also wear my Pixel Watch 2, but am really new to MFP.

I'm just a bit confused by what data the watch (GoogleFit?) is sending to MFP on my mobile. After the workout, MFT says I've done XXXX steps and used XXX calories, but it doesn't go into detail about how it got those steps.

The watch face shows it's counting my steps, without any instruction from me. But I can then go through the menus and select things like Elliptical, treadmill and walking. You can pause and stop the counter on these exercises but you can't stop the steps being counted on the watch home screen.

Is the watch sending MFP double data? once for all the steps, and also once for all those 3 (walking) exercises?

I noticed also while I was doing strength training with Shoulder Press, the watch face was still counting steps, yet Leg extension, the steps remained frozen. Is that normal?

The MyFitnessPal app will do its own tracking on the watch but if you have it linked to Health Connect then it will also use that as a data source. It should prioritise it's own data over other data. The watch face is likely showing Fitbit data
