Watches

Been really pleased with my seiko sportura kinetic titanium. Had it about five years now and its been a great watch. Getting a little scratched and scuffed now though as titanium isn't the best wearing of materials for a watch.

Was thinking about replacing it as I've just been given a £250 voucher at work for long service. Was wondering what would be a good choice for this sort of budget?

At 150 quid i doubt there will be any kind of value in a watch as an investment - it will have been made for about 40 quid in a chinese factory.

Having said that, there are good watches by Seiko around that price range which are at least a step up in the fashion watch price range.

Can't understand why anyone ****s off high end watches. They are made in Swiss workshops by very skilled people who train for years and years, and made from the best materials and usually hold or rise in value, and support an industry that keeps educated and hard working people in jobs. I'd rather spend money on something built by craftsmen than just another bit of cheap tat, made by people in the third world, that will end up in landfill within a few years.

Back on track. By all means get something that holds sentimental value to you - but i wouldnt worry about the quality which is kind of the same up to a level. Although some are better than others.

Quick update, I have received my watch this morning from Creation. 1.5 working days for delivery - very impressive. I wish more UK sites were like this! I'll get a pic up after I get home from work.
