Watching dvd's / game cut-scenes = top part of screen seems to have a line??

Hi.

I fitted a radeon 7850 to an a8-3870k pc recently as i wanted to play games.

On a 24" monitor I have noticed especially at some cut scenes of games = the dvd (game) is spinning fast because i should imagine its reading the cut-scene from the disc, but say occasionally the top 1/5th of the screen is like lined off. Its so hard to explain but lets say its not smooth and maybe occasional millisecond lag in this top 1/5 of the screen.

Its 100% not the screen as I have tested it with my hd sky box.

It did it before adding the 7850 card and still doing it now.

Any ideas??

Cheers,

yeah tearing perfect word for it... god its been annoying the hell out of me. I basically got assassins creed 3 and with there being so many cut scenes its annoying me like wono.

Cheers I will try enabling v-sync and get back to you with the results.

Cheers,

Some games (like all 3 Dead Space games) force 30fps limits if you enable vsync. Very annoying.

You can get around it via RadeonPro or nvidia drivers though.

I don't understand how people can stand to play things without V-sync to be honest but plenty here seem to.

just never found a use for it, rarely if ever experienced screen issues without v-sync. FPS games + MMO's can gain input lag from it too
