Watching films with people who talk/ask questions, or just generally don't get it!

Does anyone else know someone, or be unfortunately to live with, or be in a relationship with someone who just doesn't understand story lines from films/TV.

My GF is an intelligent person, however she is so slow when it comes to films. I honestly do not know how she enjoys any film as more often than not I have to explain things to her.

Sometimes a few days after the film we'll be talking about it, and I will mention something, and she will suddenly have a brainwave and understand the story. I get annoyed when she asks me questions DURING a film, but I almost get more annoyed when she lets it go and ends up not understanding the film.

We watched Quantum of Solace recently, and I must admit, I was a little confused at times. However, she honestly had no idea what happened, AT ALL!

Does anyone else know people like this. Or is anyone else like her, and just doesn't get a decent story line?

I always talk when watching movies, I like it when other people talk too, better than sitting there in silence like couch potato zombies.

Yeah I agree, sometimes. But other times I just want to engross myself in the story, not be asked what we should have for dinner a week on Thursday.

the worst one is when you've literally just turned the channel on and you get the questions "who's that?" and "what's happening?". i have no idea darling i've been watching it for the same amount of time as you.

Yeah this also annoys me, haha
