I was wondering if anyone could recommend a solution for watching live TV on Windows 10 (without the internet)? I've had a look on some websites but there are so many options I don't know what to go with.

I'll obviously also need some software to watch and not just the USB TV Tuner. If anyone has done this I'd really appreciate some recommendations.

I've been doing this for years, I use a dvbt USB stick and dvbviewer, software used to cost £15 dvb stick 50 quid or so.

Will any USB DVB stick do? There are some for about £20 and some that cost about £60 and I'm not sure if I should pay for the more expensive ones. I'm not that bothered about getting HD channels as I'll just be having it on in the background.

dvbT is what matters I think, I think dvbviewer has a trial, not sure.

I think I've got one of these, works great there are cheaper ones that are probably ok.

PCTV Systems DVB-T2 23076 nanoStick HD

Comes with its own software which is a bit clunky, you need the drivers minimum.

I have done this stuff for over a decade now (even before digital tv was out)
I have a media PC with 2 x DVB-S2 + dual DVB-T2 tuner cards ( freesat-HD / freeview-HD)
I use media portal (free) on this PC to watch/time shift/record tv in the living room
I also had a raspberry pi with Kodi installed (plus tv plugin) in the dining room that can talk to this media PC and tune to a channel and allow you to watch it
Also my main PC upstairs (also got media portal installed on it) can talk the media PC and also use it tuners to watch / record stuff
If you are buying any devices make sure they are either DVB-T2 or DVB-S2(need a sat dish for this type) type ones
the 2 means they support HD channels

another fan of mediaportal, though I've got a dedicated pc to handle the tv etc etc, it may not be wholey suited to a once in a while watching habit as it does require investment to setup and maintain. But it is the dogs danglys as a tv server and wife friendly one up and running.

if all your after is the odd bit of tv watching then dvbviewer is a good shout.

I still use Window Media Center for watching TV. I don't watch movies, DVD's or any Sky type paid for content. Don't need any other stuff at all just plain TV.
I find it simple and straight forward with out all of the extras that sometimes get in the way with other programs.
It picks up all the Freeview channels that I watch and records.

Hauppauge (spelling??) Win-TV Solo + mediaportal fulfills my needs quite nicely. As others have said, there's a bit of setup involved but IMO it's totally worth it due to the sheer amount of options you have. North-East UK, and I get around 120 channels.
