I don't know why i have never used the Skygo app before, my computer is in the bedroom so it would be perfect to have sky onto the tv, does it make any difference how you have it set, If someone was in the bedroom and i wanted to be on the computer then i would extend the display, but i think we will be watching sky when i'm not on the computer.

The Sky Go app will run on a TV connected to your PC by HDMI, but will not work using screen casting.
You can set the TV to be a second screen in an extended screen setup, so you can watch Sky Go on the TV and do other stuff on your monitor at the same time.

Thanks Stu, I did wonder about screen casting, I will have on extended screen, Is there any benefit of just having it on the one screen (TV) does the sky app run smoother? i ask this because some channels have lip sync issues.

I only tried it for the first time last weekend... I think Sky Go is on 720p, which looked a bit better on my monitor than my larger TV, but I still decided to keep it on the TV to watch the rugby. I don't think it matters running two screens at once with modern hardware. Of note, after connecting your TV check in the display settings that it is running at 60Hz... mine defaulted to 30Hz for some reason, which was very bad!

My TV is still HD Ready (768) so thats ok. I do have a question on the sound side can you have sound going to the tv for the sky go app but also have separate sound going to my PC speakers say if i wanted to watch youtube or music that's on my pc? at the moment i can only select one or the other.

I didn't try that... as soon as I connected the TV, all the sound was coming from the TV. I disconnected the TV after the rugby finished, so I didn't get into changing sound settings.

However, I believe Windows 10 lets you set some sounds to different devices, possibly program specific. For example, I know that some people set Windows system sounds to speakers in their monitor, with other sounds going to headphones.

So i don't think its possible for someone to watch sky on the tv with the sound going to the tv speakers and say me at the computer listening to my own music of my computer.

EDIT: I think the only way is through software that can route the sound.
