Watching USB via HDMI

Hi

I am going away with work for 3 weeks, i know the TV has a HDMI (stayed before), but my work laptop cannot accept unauthorised USB.

What is the best simple device, where I can put movies onto a USB pen to watch via HDMI? Without the need for a PC.

Cheap £20 android box and plug the USB into that?

Any worth recommending? I have a Fire TV box, but have never used it for that. Also an old Chrome dongle from a few years back (but no USB)

Just any look on ebay you can get hundreds for peanuts £20 would fully work with VLC and accept a USB stick. I have an unbranded quad core for my daughters room. There a bargain really. Just don't expect it to be quick and can be a bit flaky i.e. Wifi drops but it's fit for purpose.

You could spend a bit more for a better box, but just to play movies from a USB stick I think any would be ok.

Can't really recommend any sorry.
