I have an Asus MemoPad which is really bad in bright sunlight and I want to be able to watch a few films on the beach on holiday so can anyone tell me what I need to look out for spec wise on a new tablet or can anyone recommend a decent tablet that works well in sunlight? :)

Try a Kindle...

You will not be able to see any screen on the planet in bright and direct sunlight. The only option is to watch in shade, or get some kind of visor for it.

On the other hand, you could man-up and spend your time watching the peaches rather than night at the museum 2.

There won't be anyone else on the beach to leer at unfortunately.
Do the anti glare covers you can get make a difference at all?

Good luck finding a transflective tablet. Why these arent common place now is beyond me! Nearly everyone has a tablet nowadays, so they should be usable outside in the sun.
