rebuilding my rig soon, going to install a

Motherboard: Asus P8Z68-V Intel Z68
CPU: Intel Core i5 2500K 3.30GHz Sandybridge CPU

Question is will my old cpu water block from my I7 920 1366 fir my new cpu and motherboard, or will I have to buy a new water block aswell.

If I have to buy a new waterblock what one should I get, as never used anything but I7.

Regards

Phil

Should do. Just use the 1156 fittings that came with your waterblock.

1155 and 1156 use the same mounting mechanisms do they not?

That's the big problem, I don't got them.
so will need to find a 1155 / 1156 mounting kit i suppose, or buy a new water block.lol

Thanks for the quick reply

If it's a heatkiller you have then they only come with mountings for a single socket. They do sell extra brackets but are very difficult to find.

Quite a few other block manufacturers do sell upgrade brackets that are widely available.

What block is it?

I have a delta v3 or a heatkiller v3 blocks.
neither have 155 or 1156 mounting kits with them

You can get a upgrade kit for the Delta from XSPC for £4.99 so that it will fit 775/1155/1156/1366.

As expected, can't find the Heatkiller kit anywhere despite their promises of a easy upgrade path. However, luckily for you and others i found that someone is doing custom kits for the Heatkiller blocks. Do a search for Pulse Modding Heatkiller Universal CPU Waterblock Mounting Plates and you should find them for the reasonable price of £4.49 plus delivery. This kit makes the block compatible with 775/1155/1156/1366 plus all of AMD's sockets.

The Heatkiller is the better block of the two you have.

Hi Pastymuncher,

thanks for the info.
Just managed to buy a XSPC i3, i5, i7 Mount for Delta CPU Blocks .

Will give it a go, and see how it goes.

Peace Out
