Hey all,

I've just moved from a 5200+ dual core, which never really got over 45 degress with a clock up to 3ghz using this kit
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-014-SW&groupid=701&catid=193&subcat=1038&name=Swiftech%20H2O-220%20Apex%20Ultra%20Watercooling%20Kit%20(Socket%20462/478/LGA775/754/939/940)

i'm using the same kit with a diffrent holder, but my temps are hitting 55 after 2 hours of prime 95.
I was just wondering if there is any better cpu block for a quad core ???

Cheers

how warm/hot does the radiator feel?

if its pretty hot, then you just need a better rad/fan on the rad

warm, but not hot, i mean the fans are only doing about 1100 rpm, but if i spank up the fans to full chat 1900 odd the temps stay the same,
so i think it's the block...... just wondering if people agree.

Yes it probably is but is that load temp at stock?

if it is, try an overclock to say 3.2Ghz and see what max temps you get.

Mine at 3.8Ghz hits high 60's and I don't have the best watercooling setup with my block been the weakest link in my loop.

If the block keeps your temps below 70 at the maximum overclock your cpu can achieve I don't see the point in spending money on a better block if it's just to have 5 degrees less temp.

If the temp is holding back your max overclock then yes, buy a new block.

The best for a q6600 is the fuzion v2 without nozzle. No argument.

Thats on a 2 hour load in prime95 ( small tft thingy LOL )
on a 3.4 ghz at 1.3 volts odd....

Thanks i'll keep clocking....

Well your doing fine at 55C at 3.4Ghz. I reckon you don't need a new block unless your cpu ends up been one of the lucky few which hits 4Ghz.
