Switching over from noise to less noise hopefully for 3 x 260GTX (216) and a Q6600 on stock fans.

How it was:

New toys:

The business side of an EK:

The pretty side of an EK :)

TIM cleaner of champions (cheap too):

Fitted!:

Tada!

CPU/rads/pumps and tubing next

Nice one mate. I am going to be watercooling my 4870X2 soon so cant wait for that :D

PS. Love your sig :D

Heh, had it for ages, its Dawn + hack :p

4870X2 yeah they are heating beasts I hear. I had 4850 and it ran ok. TBH the 260GTX's are quiet normally, just that mine are at 100% 24/7 and thats ok in my office but not in the lounge (where it is atm while the builder is ripping the floor up in the office)

Still good excuse I reckon :D

Some more parts arrived this morning, my XSPC Laing DDC BayRes and extra pump :)

Not too bad, been selling old parts to pay for the new and rationalising my setup here, so actually got rid of an entire PC

That is a very nice setup man... I was comtemplating water cooling until I saw it was £50 a block for GPU's which would bring me to £300 to even implement a watercool system.

I am slightly jealous of you, I will soon have 2 x 4890 with stock fans trying to take off from my desk.

Yeah I wouldn't have been able to do it without selling all the bits I've acrued over the past year.

Put together the next part last night: XSPC Laing DDC BayRes

Dude let me know how the dual pump/res combo works out. I didnt notice that until after I got my res/pump combo and if I had it would have made for a better future proofing when I go to cool my GPU next. :D

Has that got a double pump in it?

what part name is it?

Looking good.

Aye double pump. You can get them with one pump included then just get the second one, pop the top off it and screw it in. Pumps are not submerged.

Its official name is Dual Bay Reservoir for Laing DDC

Have yet to put the rig together so don't have any analysis.

What temps are you getting from those 3 260's?

I get a 1c difference in my 2 x 280's.

Not got the loop up and running yet. But on air the difference what around 10°C  With two being close and one being way out. Probably the hot air rising to the top card.

Very nice indeed. Have heard the Laing pumps are noisy though. Eagerly waiting your write up.

Would imagine it was the middle card that was suffering from no airflow on the top and bottom of it?

Biffa- our of interest did you find the SLI connectors difficult to fit? Esp when using the spacer?

Looking very nice! Should certainly reduce the noise :D

What rads are you going to be using?

Not sure, probably star with what I have laying around.

GPU's:
  • Thermochill 120.2

CPU:
I have a selection of brands 120.1's for the CPU so am going to start with what is hopefully the best and if I run into trouble get either a:
  • Thermochill 120.1
  • XSP RX120
  • TFC Xchanger 120

CPU is a Q6600 G0 which runs at 3.4Ghz on air. I'm not looking to max overclock just get it quiet.
