Hi All,
A couple of weeks ago, someone on here asked me to post some pictures of my Water Cooled HTPC. Id never taken any but I've had some PSU trouble and while it was apart I took some photos. Sorry if they're a bit pants but I'm not too hot with a camera!
Spec;
A8N32, 2gb Mushkin DDR500, X2 3800 (@2.5),
8800GTS 640mb (@660/1528/1900), 2 x 250gb Samsung HD's,
DVD-RW, WinTV 150 PVR, Card Reader,
Fan Controller, Vista Premium (w/mce remote), Enermax Infinity 620w.
Cooling - 1 x 120mm rad, 1 x 184x92mm rad,
Swiftech Stealth VGA block & Vadim swivel fittings, Swiftech Apogee Drive CPU block, 3/8 Norprene Tubing.
I've cheated a little I suppose because I've got one rad on the back of the case and the other sticking out the side, but it's a whole lot quieter and a whole lot cooler than it was.
It's also allowed me to overclock the GPU. I never bothered before because I didn't want the extra heat inside the case because, as you can see, airflow is limited.
CPU used to idle at 38c, load 58c. Now CPU is 31c idle and 49 load.
GPU used to idle at 52c, load 66c (stock clocks). Now GPU is 45c idle and 52c load (overclocked).
They may not be ice cool temps but seen as the GPU is now overclocked and it's a lot quieter then I'm well pleased.
Anyway, It's given me a taste for water cooling so I'm now turning my thoughts to a full sized water cooled rig and more up to date components. Better start saving............
