Water cooling A8N32-Sli in V1000

I was thinking about installing a watercooling inside my V1000 with A8N32-Sli mobo and was hoping that I can get some advice on what parts to cool and where to place the watercooling components. I'm not doing this to get better overclocking but it just gives me something to do with the PC and also looks cool under UV. My system is running very quiet on air and would like to keep it quiet with water cooling. I don't think that a radiator with 3 fans is something that will suit me as it will deffinatelly increase the noise. Can I get away with using a radiator with a single fan? My CPU is set to Cool & Quiet and overclocks to 2.4GHz at 100% load, my GFX card is not overcloked so I don't think that it need that much cooling. On the A8N32-Sli mobo do I remove the heatpipe and cool the chipsets and Mosfets or is it better to leave it on. I don't want to use that noisy blower fan for the heatpipe when the CPU is passively cooled. Can all the cooling components be installed inside the case or do some have to be outside?

Controversial advice coming up from me:

My v1000+ is setup.

Zalman Reserator 1+ cools the CPU
Zalman VF900cu on the 7800gt
HDD's in Silentmaxx enclosures
1 rear 5v Akasa Amber
Seasonic 600w PSU.

Its a silent rig from 1m away, and my current temps in a room im struggling to stay in are:

X2 4400 2.6/2.6 at 34deg after full load for an hour
7800gt is 51deg
Top of case is at 33deg
CPU area is at 31deg
Empty bottom front of case is 30deg

The 30deg shows that its about 29 in my room at the moment, and my Wales fridge magnet is reading the same. Not bad temperatures at all in my opinion for a silent rig!

Expensive yes, modding required is none, good temperatures in very high ambient conditions, sun on my room, no curtains, 2 people in the room for a hour or so, PC and HiFi running and not staying still, ends up with a hot room!

Quite a good rig setup in my opinion, can't really complain about anything. The Reserator 1+ may not offer the best cooling, but I love mine as it offers high end air at low noise / silence.

Its had 10 minutes to cool down, results vary but I have found mine to be faultless, it compliments the v1000+ exceptionally well as the CPU heat does not get near the GPU, and the GPU does not heat up the CPU.

Very ideal setup and the one the Reserator shows off most in, under a normal case its not quite as good.

I've looked at the Resorator but it is a huge thing. It looks stylish but at present I don't have the space to put it.

Is that also minus the fan kit then Yewen? If so, I tell you what I may have to see if my m8 wants to sell his because he's having very little joy in his armour and wants to change his setup. :)

It is without the fan, the only thing blowing near it is a desk fan about 3m away.

The Reserator really does not like being in direct sunlight, or being enclosed to much as the temperature around it makes a big difference.

All my temps are down 1 now, room seems to be cooling.

Looks like a good performer and you have roughly 20% overclock. I'm looking for 50% so I'd be curious to know actual temps after 4hours of prime or even seti online. I dont know if it would be so good for me though.

Back onto what the original question was about... I'd take a look at the Swiftech Apex "Ultra" as it comes with two V. quiet fans and the pump's speed can be adjusted for quietness rather than performance, it also gives you the ability to switch to a performance setup should your needs change.

Everything *should* fit inside a V1000 with possible exception to the radiator... which can be mounted externally using the radBox. :D

Looks like the most difficult thing to do is installing the rad inside the case. How much cooling would 1 fan rad provide and that's when it's inside the case?

I'm sure you'll find somewhere to put a dual rad, hang it of the back for example? Or put it in the roof if your handy with a jigsaw? Everyone seems to be put off these days because they think the rad wont fit.

Mounting the radiator outside the case is not a problem for me but I would like it within the case. I looked at the Swiftec H2O-120 with a single radiator and that might do the job. I will not be doing any serious overclocking so don't need supercooling with a bigger radiator. I think that the radiator might fit where the front intake fan is and then move the HHD rack to the drive bays.

Day03, ive been told a good pump and a 120.1 rad will do a good job cooling 1 cpu, as im thinking of going WC in a LL v1000b+

im still looking into what WC parts i want :)

and ppl keep recommending the, Swiftech H20-120 Premium Watercooling Kit and the Swiftech H20-220 Apex "Ultra" Watercooling Kit if you got the extra cash :)

I was looking at the H2O-120 Premium kit but I'm not sure about the pump that it comes with. From the specs it seems quite noisy at 24-26dB so was looking at the Swiftech MCP655 pump. I haven't found yet the noise levels it produces but in the description it says that it has improved noise levels and also the speed can be controlled to make it more quiet. As I'm not using it for major overclocking it does not need to be running at full power. Collecting the components separatelly even with the more expensive pump is not going to be that much more than buying the H2O-120 Premium kit.

I also will be adding a GPU cooling block. . I've got the 6800GT and currently it's temp is below 40C so doesn't need much cooling.

you should look at the apex swiftech kit top spec for first time water cooling and in that lian li i could park a bus loads pf room to mount a rad internally :), and i recommend a 120.2 over a .1 for even just a cpu as you will get a noticable difference and when you add a second block later there will be less of an impact
