water cooling advice needed

Hello all, I am intending to build a new PC in the near future and would like to include a water cooling system however, I am struggling to get my head around a few basics and wondered whether anyone could help.

I would really like to utilise the Cooler master storm trooper case with a twin radiator mounted in the top of the case and possibly a single radiator on the rear of the case.

My main concern is, with having the twin radiator mounted in the top of the case and the reservoir mounted lower down in the case, how efficient is this, as presumably the reservoir will need an air gap allowing for expansion.

I am thinking that the original air gap within the reservoir will rise to the top ie within the radiator making the cooling system less efficient. Any help at this early design stage would be appreciated.

Having the rad above the res ls fine, very common.
You will have an air gap at the top of the res, the pressure from the pump will force the air around the loop and it will collect in the res, the outlet and inlet of the res are positioned so that the air cannot get back out around the loop

It's a closed loop that you are filling from the res, so it's impossible for the res to fill entirely. For the res to fill, water would have to come back from the rad, and air would have to replace the water from the rad. Air can't get in to the rad as it's a closed loop...
