I'm preparing to make my first steps into water cooling, and if i'm honest don't reallt know where to start. At present just planning on the CPU for now.

I'm using a Skeleton case which doesn't really lend itself to water cooling but I have an idea as to what I want to put where.

I was planning on putting the radiator on the side of the case attached to the mesh panel, and proably the pump there also.

Resevoir wise perhaps one of the drive bay types or one of the cylinder types

Budget wise none set as yet want to keep it real but don't mind paying for quality.

So guys, what do I want and where do I put it.

A piccy of the case i'm going to be working with.

Wow that's the first time I have ever seen a picture of that case kitted out! Good job!

Why do you need watercooling?

Don't really need water coling. To be honest it's fantastic under air. I just want to have a go at water and really enjoy modding this case.

I think it lends itself to having all the WC gear attached to the outside.

the only advice i would give is to not cut corners with your first wc build dont settle for the cheap waterblock, rad or pump because you will regret it and end up replacing them with better ones with in a few months

To be honest I find the Skellington case to be extremely restriced with what you can do with it, both water and air, that is if you are planning on keeping everything within the body of the case. However your plan to put rads on the outside, coupled with your paint job could lead to quite a bling rig. What I would do is go for two rads, probably two 120.2 and put one either side to keep the thing symmetrical. If these were painted as the case then it would look quite smart. Two 120.2 rads is overkill for a cpu only loop but at least it will be ready if you include the gcard later.

If I were you I would probably forget about a res to save space, just go with a T line. I would have though you would be able to get a pump somewhere inthe bottom compartment.

The main thing you are going to have to think about is how much slack to build into your tubes. I believe that case has a slideout mobo tray such that any tubes connected to blocks will have to have enough slack so you can still slide the try, as the rads will essentially be fixed points. This could end up spoiling the look if you have great loops of tube hanging in mid air, so will need some planning. Its either that or use some quick release couplings.

Thanks for the advice Bubo. that's exactly the sort of thing i'm thinking of. In fact as the side panels are themselves removable, if I need to slide out the mobo tray I just unclip the whole rad assembly also. not sure what a T peice is so would be great if you could advise, also could you recommend some manufacturers re cpu blocks and the rest of the gear.

Like I say really new to WC. Will of course be hitting the reviews etc, but nothing better than the advice of those used to using it.

I see your from sunny Scunny, not to far away from me as it happens
