Ive got a swiftec gtx to cool my e8400 but ive damaged the screws that mount it is there any back places i can use to mount it? maybe ones from a ac cooler?

also im going to be buying a xpsc rs240 to fit in my nxzt temptest which will cool the rad with two 140mm fans will that be able to cool my 4870 as well as my cpu? im guessing not very well?

If they are the block mounting screws then they are notoriously prone to stripping - contact Swiftech support and they will send you some new ones. If you need something in a hurry then you can buy bolts or screws (M3 or M3.5 I think and just cut them to the right length). I did this with my old GTX block when I stripped the threads on the supplied screws.

That rad has fittings for 120mm fans, so if you are trying to fit fans directly to the rad the 140mm fans will be too big.

A much better rad like a 120.2 would handle the heat better than the rs240, but its also a lot more money. Personally I would get the best rad I could for the budget I have. Do you really need to cool the gpu? Where are you planning on placing the rad, inside or outside?

Yes, I missed that - the spacing is such that you wouldn't get two 140mm fans on.

This is always really hard - the better radiators are more expensive, but the extra cost doesn't usually buy that much more performance.

E8400's seem to run pretty cool in my experience, so the total heatload might be within the capabilities of the 240mm radiator, but the fans will be running so hard it's unlikely it will be quiet.

As for the rad i figured it might not be able to handle the heat load of both the gpu and cpu, my case is designed to take a 240/120.2 rad in the roof there are mountings for it and the fans are prebuilt into the top so no worrys there.

yes i was meaning the screw that go through the mobo to the back plate will swiftech replace these for me?! if so how do i contact them?

ahh thanks i really should have googled for that!

i dont suppose anyone is running a black ice 240 or a xpsc rs240?

I'm using the 'Alphacool Black Ice Xtreme II' With a D-Tek Fuzion V2 to cool my Q6600. At 3.2Ghz load temps are high 40's. 3.75Ghz load temps are low 60's. Whether that info is any use to you I'm not sure ;)
That rad will cope with a single GPU or CPU but CPU & GPU will be pushing it.
