Hi

I am looking to water cool my pc and am looking for some advice on what to get.

The details of my comp are in my signature. I would like to spec out a water cooling solution that could cool my current rig and also allow another GTX 980 be added at a later date. So needs to be specced to include that as well.

If anyone can help put together a list of all the things that I would need that would be great. I am also not to worried about price so if its a choice of quality vs price I would choose quality.

Thanks

I realise some of this may be out of stock but would this be a good start? Not sure on the size of the radiators and compatibility with my case.

YOUR BASKET
1 x EK Water Blocks EK-D5 Vario X-RES 140 (incl. pump) £107.99
1 x EK Water Blocks EK-FC980 GTX - Acetal £79.99
1 x EK CoolStream RAD XTX (360) £74.99
1 x EK-CoolStream RAD XTX (240) £64.99

1 x EK Water Blocks EK-FC980 GTX Backplate - Black £22.99
Total : £415.54 (includes shipping : £8.00).

I am not really sure what fittings, tubing and cooling to go with though.

Here's an example of the rest of the gear. Just pick the coolant in your colour.

YOUR BASKET
2 x Monsoon 16/11mm (ID 7/16 OD 5/8) Free Center Compression Fitting Six Pack - Black Chrome £24.95 (£49.90)
1 x Mayhems Pastel - Red Coolant 1L £14.99
2 x Primochill Primoflex Advanced Tubing 16/11 - Clear £5.99 (£11.98)
Total : £86.46 (includes shipping : £8.00).

Fitting a 360 x 60+ thick rad up top will be tight in a 540 though. Just go for 2 of the 240 rads. Will be plenty to cool your setup :)

Also, don't forget fans!

Thanks for advice. I will switch it to a couple of the smaller radiator. I had completely forgotten about the fans :)

What kind of wattage can these radiators support? I was planning to SLI the 980. Is it still overkill with the two graphics cards?

Am building a similar system with 2x240 rads, one at bottom of case as an intake rad, one at top as an exhaust rad. In terms of attaching fans to the rads, which side of the rad is best? For example for bottom rad, better to go case frame>rad>fan or case frame>fan>rad? Is it different for the bottom and top rads?

I know you can do a push pull with two sets of fans per rad but this gets quite bulky in size.

Better to push or pull, at top or bottom rad?
