Ok so just set my water cooling up and i'm a bit disappointed. My temps are not great. Here is a brief summary of my kit:-

1x 280MM RAD
1x 200mm RAD
1200l p/hour pump (D5 with ek top)

Cooling:-

i7 ivy @4.5ghz
2x GTX670 (stock)

CPU temps under load are the same if not slightly worse than my air setup. 75C - 80C

Not sure about GPU's yet as I'm still getting this thing setup... that's not right surely is it?

Hi all, thanks for the responses and helpful suggestions. I do tend to agree about the air in the system theory. I can hear it clicking/making noise around the system. I've done some tilting of the system and idle temps on the gpu are down to 40C. The fluid still seems very cool in the tubing. I'm not at home at the moment so can't check what the rads feel like.

I'm actually using the same components (exactly except for pump) as this build by singularity water cooling. YouTube link here: http://youtu.be/OGtZiPQ8z8w

I've dropped over a grand into this so I'm a bit gutted to say the least. How full does my res need to be? It's only about half full currently, also I think I may have used the 1/4 inch thread screw top at the top of res elsewhere in my system so maybe that's causing air to get in?

Any advice very much appreciated.

Hey, please see pics below. Just to add a further observation, when I switched it on for the first time it did seem to struggle pumping the fluid all the way around. It didn't shoot round straight away. There are quite a few different types of fittings but I don't see why it shouldn't flow. From the pics below does it seem setup ok? There are fans on the rads yes. Also managed to snap the solder off one of the led's for the blocks hence why no light on the second gpu. Will fix that at a later date. Thanks.

Hi all, I've re-assembled the loop and fitted the gpu. Unfortunately GPU temps are still woeful. 45C idle and overheat to impractical levels once load is generated. I think I can still hear air in the loop but could this be causing such dramatic temperature increases? Surely getting air out of the loop is fine tuning?

The temperature of the liquid feels cool to me but the gpu block is very hot (when I placed under load. I dont think it's anything to do with my fan configuration since the liquid is still cool. Could the amount of various connectors/fittings I have reduce the flow? I have my pump set to 5 (max speed).

There were warnings on my gpu block instructions not to over tighten the block to the card so I tried not to over tighten whilst maintaining decent contact. Both GPU's seem roughly the same temperature so probably not that... Seems to be pointing to a loop problem?

Let me know your thoughts... :( Thanks guys.

Oh and with regard to cleaning the rads... I filled them 2-3 times each with water and swished around. Then on the final one I used mayhems water to rinse out.

Ohhhh the shame of it!! I actually realised what I'd done not long after posting when I went out for the day.... what a spacker.

Right, well it's finally built now. GPU's are running under maximum load at 30C. Idling at about 28C.... :) Wow.

CPU temps are not really better than air at this moment in time. Is this to be expected? Anyway guys, thanks for all your help you have been so helpful.

First time water cooler so was a bit of a learning curve for me. So, what do you peeps actually think of the final build? It pretty much looks the same as the second lot of pics I posted without the obvious **** up. :S

Well, I've sorted out my CPU temperature issue as well. Nothing to do with the water cooling loop. I reset my bios recently and some of the CPU voltage settings were set to auto.... basically I was running 1.33v through my cpu at 4.5ghz.

Set it back down to 'normal' and the volts under full load are 1.188 @ 4.5ghz. Currently just prime testing to ensure everything is stable. Should be as it was before...

I'm going to get some nice photo's together after I install a bit of mood lighting :) and post in a new thread. I'd be keen to hear what you guys think. Thanks all! :D
