Water Cooling for the First Time.

Slightly back on topic, I have a realy stupid question

When i'm taking the motherboard etc out of my case, would it be safe to lay the board on my computer desk, ya'know with all the static and stuff

It's a wooden desk, but it has that fake 1mm plastic effect wood, not real wood lol

Just woundering, woundn't want it getting static on it and breaking.

God what a stupid question that was. See the thing is I usually just take the components out the box and straight into the case and fit them, never had to take anything out and "alter" it and put it back in.

Cheers

When i fitted my first WCing kit i was using a new case so i just fitted all the WC components together and attached a PSU then fired the whole thing up and left it for a few hours to run (leak test).
I then fitted the MOBO etc and run it, again checking for leaks.
Since then i have added a GPU block and changed the Rad position but i dont remove the components, i just unplug my PSU from the mains and connect the water pump to a spare PSU so even if i do get a leak (and if you have connected it all properly you wont get any) there is no power running to the MOBO etc.

Thanks for the info. But my kit reqires a bracket to be fitted on the back of my mobo. I'd have to unplug everything and take the RAM, CPU, Gfx Card and everything out, then fit the bracket then put everything back in

Were could I lay down all those components without the risk of static getting to them?

Thanks
