Hello,
i was thinking about watercooling my system but id like some advice before hand

does anyone know an average price for a system as i am only 14 so dont have a wide budget.

and if it leaks is it fixable or will i need to buy a new rig completley??

any quick response would be nice :)

p.s this is my 1st post
:):)

thanks
Rowan

id like to watercol mainly CPU andmy gfx card im running on a intel viiv pentiumd 3.2ghz witha256mb ati radeon 9500 xt card.
that really all i qould like to cool - my case is quite packed atm but getting a new one sometime this week.

further specs:
ati radeon 9500xt
intel pendtiumd3.20ghz (2cpus)
4GB DDR2 RAM
2x 192gb harddrives

thanks for the links to the kits, will search and talk it over with my parentsabout getting one. next question if it leaks will it befixable without completly destroying my machine?

Do you actually need watercooling? Or do you just want it? Only asking because I'd rather put some money into a new graphics card, that thing is ancient :p You would be hard pushed to find a block that even fits it. I personally wouldnt watercool the Pentium D either.

If you are still interested though, I spent about £150 watercooling just my CPU. I had an XSPC Pump/res, EK Supreme block, XSPC 120.2 radiator, and TFC fittings. Fairly good setup and it wasnt bank breaking :)

I had a leaks on my system in the past which went on the gpu's which still worked fine, the use of distilled water helps.

well id like watercooling butas you say i do need a new card as i cant run burnout paradise on it and i struggle running games such as warhammer online and world of warcraft.
id rather look into a new card for around 100 and get watercooling for christmas :)
ill have a look at cards and talk it over with my father who recently has bought from OC and ill see what he says about watercoolingand about a new card.

thanks for the fast responses anyways and benjo thanks for telling me about the fact i might not even be able to watercool my card. :)

Well I'd say for semi decent kit your still looking over £150.

pentium d is socket 775 isnt it? Not sure about what you could get as a VGA block, not sure if the one I included would be compatible, but it gives you an idea of the price.

This isnt the best kit by far, but would work well. However, I'd recommend putting your money into some new components, get a new graphics card or somthing for similar price, would be a better way to spend your cash

thanks as alost have said i will look into getting a new card first and then ill get a suitible watercooling system for christmas :)

getting a new case tommorow
so on hte otherhand does anyone know any budgetcases i can order for around 30-50pounds?

imo spend a little more and get a nice case that will hold the water cooling when you get it or you will have to upgrade again what will be pointless.
i have got a artic 900 its a nice case but wont hold a rad bigger than 120.2 internally. its on offer atm for 85pounds http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-065-AN&groupid=701&catid=7&subcat=

altho i think there are better cases within that price range for water cooling, i wasent intending to watercool when i got that case, altho a very nice case it is.

Yea the Antec 900 is good if you can stretch to it, seems very popular.

Or like RJC said, A Lian-Li would be great as well, they come with some good features. Going to be paying at least £65, preferably £80+ for a one though which is way over your budget

Hello Mr. New,
Since you’re Water-cooling you should spend more on a case because the water-cooling loop will take up quite a bit of space, and if you wanted a 240 rad internally mounted you would need a much bigger case

X2
the 900 can fit a 240 rad with a bit of hacking at the hard drive bays lol but if i had the chance would pay a lot more and get a rly nice one that you will never need to change
