Hi All,

Please can anyone suggest a good in line filter for use in a water cooling loop?
I am not too worried about pressure drops as I was planning on placing it in the loop using quick disconnects running the loop for a hour or so then removing the filter.

I was looking for something like the Aquacomputer water filter. As a bonus this filter can be isolated and cleaned without removing it from the loop but this is not an essential requirement. Unfortunately no-one seems to stock this at the moment.

There is some gunk in my water cooling loop and despite replacing the fluid
Ideally I should dismantle the entire line and flush every part but I don't have the time at the moment and this seems to be a good compromise.

Any recommendations welcome! Thanks.

If you think you just have some gunk that was left in, and not gunk which is actively being generated by some mechanism, i.e. poor cleaning of rad etc, then I would just remove the pump from the loop and connect the one end of the loop to mains water and flush down the drain to make sure you get loose debris out. Don't panic by the non use of the word "distilled/deionized" for flushing, it makes next to no odds.

Thanks Bubo, I'm afraid the gunk is probably due to lack of maintenance. My clear Feser One loop has been running for over a year and now has floaters in it
I've just replaced the fluid, hoping that draining the old stuff would solve it but of course it's still got bits floating around. I think your tap idea could work nicely although I'm a bit nervous of placing my pc next to a sink!

You should flush your rads with vinegar really thoroughly

You did'nt strip the blocks etc? You should have because Feser one is well known for seperating and clogging the loop.

Is it? I have 3 ltrs waiting to go into my loop :(
Anything you would recommend over it?

Distilled/de-ionised water is what i use now with some of Primochills liquid utopia additive. Used it for three years previously but switched to Feser one to try something different. Within three months the dye had seperated and clogged my blocks. Went back to de-ionised water and have had no further problems.

thanks, will keep the feser as a reserve if needed. I'll get some water and get some primochill UV green additive

Have a look at Thermochill EC6, its been in my loop about 10 months and its still as clear as the day l filled my loop, Thermochill say you change it every 2 years.

i'll have a look, thanks.

What about primochill performance and ice ones? how "clean" are they?
